Sports Coaching Apprenticeship Ages 18+

We are offering a range of apprenticeships relating to activity leadership, sports coaching and PE

Level 2 or 4 Sports Coach (18 months)

Immediate Employment

School Term time Hours

Monday to Friday:

30 hours per week Monday - Friday (school term time 39 weeks a year) shifts will vary but will total 30 hours

Morning activity clubs 7.20am - 9.00am Monday to Friday

PE assisting morning or afternoons

After school clubs from 3.00pm – 6.00pm Monday to Friday

Holiday Club hours 7.45am - 5.30pm shifts vary from 30 hours per week to full week – anything over 30 hours is paid as overtime

28 Days a year holiday including bank holidays

Roles and Responsibilities

· Planning and delivering school sports focused lunchtime clubs

· Planning and delivering ‘active’ before and after school clubs.

. Assisting with the delivery of PE and learning to deliver High Quality Physical Education and School Sport

· Co-ordinating club events

· Planning and delivering holiday camp activities

· Assisting in the development of current services

· Support project staff to prepare for sessions and deliver the programme’s activities

· Support project staff in monitoring and evaluating the success of the projects activities

· Adhere to employers and placement organisations Health and Safety, Child Protection and Equalities policies

· Complete various training courses

· Attend all work based sessions, meetings and training courses on time

· Adhere to their placement organisations policies around presentation, dress code and representing the organisation externally

PERSON SPECIFICATION

· Passionate about Sport, physical and creative activities

· Desire to work in sports coaching and activity leadership

· An understanding of activities and young people

· Passionate about childcare

· Self-motivated to learn and improve

· Good communication skills and ability to relate to other people

· Ability to engage young people positively

· To be able to adapt to different challenges in a positive way

· Willingness to travel to and from sessions on a daily basis

· Reasonable level of personal fitness

GENERAL DUTIES INCLUDE

In carrying out the above the post holder will:

· Keep abreast of developments in services and legislation for young people relevant to the tasks and responsibilities

· Seek to improve his/her own performance, contribution, knowledge, and skills and participate in training and developmental activities as required

· Ensure the implementation the Diversity and Equality policy statement

· Comply with Health and Safety policies and procedures
